Project Outline
In Oman, the Diwan is the equivalent to our government. It oversees everything in the country from commerce and industry to water and electricity and makes decisions on how the country should be run.
Since the Oman Insurgency ended in 1976, Oman has seen a period of sustained growth, whilst retaining its links with its long history. Within this period of growth, the Diwan has looked to develop some of the key buildings of the country including Palaces, Hospitals, Military Installations, Art Centres, Universities, Mosques, Prisons and Schools and Powershield has played an important role in supplying doors to these projects through our agent, Al Sunawbar.
Powershield has had an agreement with Al Sunawbar in place since 2001 and in 2008 signed an Agency Agreement for the supply of hinged steel doors within the Sultanate of Oman.
Scope of Works
Powershield has designed, manufactured and shipped approximately 500 no doorsets to Powershield Personnel, Powershield Fire-rated, Powershield Fire-rated Acoustic 37 and Powershield Fire-rated Acoustic 45 Doorset specifications.
The Works
The doors have been designed by many of the Project Draughtsmen using AutoCAD 2002 with Mechanical Desktop version 6. Following the drawing approval process the construction information is downloaded to computer numerically controlled manufacturing equipment within the factory using CAD/CAM software.
Over the last eight years Al Sunawbar has required a very high specification of doors, to a high quality for numerous Government, Private and Design & Build projects in Oman. In some cases Powershield have had to be very reactive and supply doors to the Middle East within two weeks.
Doors are manufactured, powder primed and fitted with all hardware in-house prior to despatch to ensure a quality finished product arrived on site.
