Scope of Works
Powershield was awarded the metal door package through the Main Contractor Mace.
Powershield designed supplied and installed over 60 fire-rated doorsets to the basement areas of the building. Single and double doors were supplied with a rating of 60 and 120 minutes. Riser access doors complete with 4-sided frames were also supplied.
The Works
Doors were designed by Draughtsman Padraig Ward, using Autocad 2002 with Mechanical Desktop version 6 and Auto SM. Following drawing approval all door details were downloaded to CNC manufacturing equipment on the factory floor using CAD/CAM software.
Both single and double doors were supplied with non-standard frame profile to suit customer requirements.
Double doors were designed single-swing, allowing either side to be the active leaf. These doors were manufactured with a modified non-rebated leading-edge at the client’s request, while at the same time maintaining fire rating.
All doors were finished with epoxy primer, ready for finish painting on site.
