Powershield scores at Lansdowne

Powershield scores at Lansdowne

13 January 2009

The Powershield team are delighted to be involved with work on 'The New Stadium', previously Lansdowne Road.

We have received an order for supply and installation of steel doors from Main Contractor John Sisk & Son Ltd.

This project will build on a long successful relationship between Powershield and John Sisk & Son Ltd, based on many years of working together in Ireland.

The old Lansdowne Road stadium was in fact the oldest international rugby ground in the world. The new stadium which will replace it will have an all-seater capacity of 50,000 when it is completed in 2010. The stadium which was best known as the home of the Irish International Rugby team, first opened as a multipurpose sports venue in 1872. Over the past twenty years it has also become home to Irish soccer.

The strong contemporary design of the stadium comprises a continuous curvilinear-shaped stand, enclosing all four sides of the ground. Powershield will supply and fit external steel security doors to the project.
