Powershield has achieved success at Colchester barracks.
Construction manager Sir Robert McAlpine nominated Powershield Doors Ltd as the preferred supplier and installer of steel hinged doors site-wide on this extensive project.
The project is one of the largest PFI schemes for the MOD, with an estimated build cost in excess of £500 million. It is being carried out by the Sir Robert McAlpine, Atkins and Sodexho consortium.
Various main contractors have been appointed to complete buildings within this complex and all contractors have now placed orders for both internal and external doors. Over 500 doors are to be designed, manufactured, delivered and installed by Powershield during 2007.
Doors are being supplied factory fitted with all hardware, and installed by Powershield’s direct labour on site, to ensure a seamless project from start to finish.
This project follows the company’s success on a number of recent Sir Robert McAlpine contracts including the Emirates Stadium, Esso Glen, Spitalfields, New Street Square and O2 Arena in London.
